SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides support, advocacy, and life-changing experiences for young people who stutter, ages 3-18. Since 2001, SAY has offered comprehensive and innovative programs that address the physical, social, and emotional impacts of stuttering. Through summer camp, regional day camps, speech therapy, and creative arts programming, SAY builds a community of acceptance, friendship, and encouragement where kids and teens who stutter can develop the confidence and communication skills they need to thrive. SAY is committed to serving children who stutter from all socioeconomic backgrounds. To date, no child has ever been turned away due to a family's financial constraints.

'In the Spotlight' :60 PSA

For the more than 70 million people who stutter across the world, every conversation can feel like speaking in front of a crowd - all eyes on you as you know what you want to say but cannot seem to get the words out. This powerful new PSA aims to ignite an overdue national conversation around stuttering to raise awareness and help us all understand how to supportively listen to people who stutter, and give them as much time as they need to speak.

SAY's 17th Annual Chef's Gala!

SAY’s 17th Annual Chef’s Gala was a spectacular night of inspired performances, decadent food, celebrity guests, and loyal friends coming together to celebrate and support young people who stutter! On May 13, 2019, SAY's legendary fundraising Gala kicked off with an incredible show at NYU’s Skirball Center starring the kids of SAY singing and dancing along with celebrity guests like Christopher Jackson, Nicki Richards, and our Gala’s host, Kelli O’Hara. The program also included moving tributes from Lin-Manuel Miranda and Wayne Brady for our 2019 honorees Thomas Kail, recipient of SAY’s Budd Mayer Advocacy Award, and Everett Bradley, inductee into SAY’s Hall of Fame. The festivities continued at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers with a fabulous Chefs’ Tasting reception. Award-winning chef, restauranteur, and SAY Board Member Marc Vetri led 13 renowned culinary superstars, including Michael Symon, Jonathan Waxman, and Claire Robinson, who donated both their time and ingredients to serve a delectable menu that delighted a crowd of over 400 guests. We look forward to once again hosting the SAY Annual Gala IN PERSON in May 2021!
