Helping you help children communicatewww.hanen.org/
Since 1975, The Hanen Centre has specialized in parent-implemented early language intervention. We offer a variety of professional development workshops for speech-language pathologists to help them engage the most important adults in a child’s life to achieve the best possible language, literacy and social skills outcomes for all young children. Our workshops are offered for up to 2.2 ASHA CEUs. When SLPs attend a Hanen Certification workshop, they gain an evidence-based framework for working with families of children with language delays or with early childhood educators in both group and one-to-one settings. They also gain a renewable Hanen membership that offers continuous learning opportunities, as well as options to use the Hanen approach via telepractice or online programs. Hanen also produces a wide variety of guidebook resources for effectively engaging parents and educators, as well as short On Demand e-Seminars, offered for up to 0.4 ASHA CEUs. As part of our Student Outreach Initiative, we offer a free university presentation for SLP students. This highly interactive session offers students a window in what effective parent-implemented intervention looks like and how they might apply it once they’re out in the field.
